Killeen,Tx . – Fort Hood (Family Friendly Video) – Houston Video

One of my last stops on the Panhandle Tour from early October 2017.
I knew Bunny Boots had been there-as had the Battousai. Not to be outdone (lol) I made a point of visiting as well. Though I picked a different location to stop at. This video depicts what I found when i dropped by to visit.

  1. David, you keep saying that 18 USC 795 has been overturned or nullified by the Supreme Court. That's not correct. The two most recent court decisions are non-binding district court cases from 2013, both of which upheld the law as valid. It has not been overturned, but most of the military police do not understand the law. To make photography illegal, the commander has to certify the the area protected meets the requirements of Executive Order 10104 as to classified weapons or equipment. That's talking about the hanger with the B-2 bomber is housed, or the nuclear missile silos, or super-secret radar equipment, and so on. It does not cover entry points to the base.

The law's still valid and there has been no court decision that I can find that addresses it, and there is certainly no Supreme Court case on the matter. Only three Federal appellate courts have mentioned the law out of the seven total cases. None of the decisions have overturned the law.

  3. I'm wondering if the soldier was educated. Did the police inform the soldier that you had the right to film from public property?

  4. This cop should be commended. There was no mention of “suspicious” that I could hear, none of the “this day and age” and no excusing the soldier’s response. Wow, he even called to check before approaching you. Maybe a small call flood to commend him and his department and his training. I am impressed to say the least. We need more like him.

  15. "Not necessarily illegal"

Even a polite, respectful and articulate police officer still just can't straight up say "what you're doing is legal" can he?

Reminds me of when the Japanese-Americans were put into camps during WWII and were classified as "enemy non-alien" rather than calling them "American citizens" which is what they were.

  35. To everyone saying the local PD shouldn't have asked for ID, it's their policy and so it's their job. They are allowed to ask. It's our job to say yes or no. If he would have pushed harder, he would have been wrong. NNH did it exactly right, as usual. They can ask anything that they want. We only have to give what we choose.
